Barbara Striesand (JRG004) ~ May 12, 2001 |

In 1997 Barbara Striesand asked hybridizer/horticulturist Tom Carruth of Weeks Wholesale Rose Grower, Inc. in California to develop a rose for her. The songster had particular criteria for a rose to meet before she would allow it to carry her name. The resulting rose, a cross of R. Blue Nile and New Zealand, exceeded all her requirements. Its perfumed scent is intense and the highly distinctive deep lavender double blossoms open to four or more inches across. Its very free flowering so you will have plenty of flowers to cut and still have Barbara Striesand in your garden. This shrub grows from 2 to 3 feet in width and from 3 to 4 feet in hight.
